Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Sumit Roy, the personal assistant to Trinamool's All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, made an appearance at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office as per the agency's notice for questioning regarding the teacher recruitment corruption case. Sumit Roy arrived at the ED office on Monday, sometime after 12 noon. It's worth noting that individuals closely associated with Abhishek Banerjee have contested the ED notice and approached the Calcutta High Court.
The court has further directed Abhishek Banerjee, his wife, and parents to provide details of their financial assets in connection with the recruitment corruption case, as the Central Investigation Agency alleges their past or current involvement with Abhishek's business activities. Sumit Roy, known for his close association with Abhishek Banerjee, has primarily stayed out of the state's political sphere and typically works in Abhishek's office.
